With the current health-care climate filled with affiliations and alliances between organizations, I can understand Dr. Haas’ concerns (letter June 9, “Alliance may alter hospital choice”). However, with more than 150 combined years of caring for our communities, I can say with full assurance that the Cascade Skagit Health Alliance will only increase the choices that patients will have available to access quality health care.
We have the utmost trust in our physicians’ care and experience that they will continue to make the best referral choices for their patients, based upon where they believe the patient will have the best outcome, regardless of where this care may occur.
The formation of the Cascade Skagit Health Alliance is a direct response to the need in our community to provide extended primary and specialty services. We are proud of this alliance and the future of health care in the Smokey Point/North Snohomish County area.
