I was disheartened to read about the Internet attacks on some students, and probably others, in the Marysville area. (Friday article, “Gossip Web site jolts Marysville-Pilchuck high school.”)
Life is certainly hard enough for young people and those who love them these days without this type of bullying. I hope all youth groups, students, parents, teachers and administrators come together to support all students and remind the offenders that they could just as well be on the receiving end someday.
Bullying is such a serious problem these days that nothing short of all-out concerted action to counter its effects is called for. There must be zero tolerance. As for this Web site’s founders, they do not deserve to profit from it. Are there advertisers on it? A good-old-fashioned boycott with advice given to the advertisers seems like a good idea to me. It has worked before.
