The Sno-Isle Libraries continue to provide services that one never realizes they would use. This past month I have found three very useful areas. “Best Bets” for books led me to artist Barry Moser’s “We Were Brothers,” brothers growing up in Chattanooga and influenced by their family’s racism. Next, when I needed “read-a-loud” picture books for the Oso Children’s Fair, the Sno-Isle site had a list of recommended titles with librarians reading the stories online. Then, wanting audio books/music/movies, I downloaded the Hoopla app. It provided easy audio choices such as “Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga,” NPR’s “First Ladies,” “Jesus Calling,” “The Voice” and more. Some of the movie selections were “Adele, Someone Like Me,” “Autism in America” and “Rob Roy.” The library provides so many excellent materials, which are selected by a staff of highly trained librarians who research many sources to meet the needs of a diverse community.
