The dreaded trip to Seattle – to shop? Fight the traffic and the parking nightmare? Never! At least that was our attitude until our perspective was changed by the absolutely wonderful cruise to Seattle on Saturday, Nov. 18! Fleet owner and Lead Capt. Michael Bennett of the Mosquito Fleet provided an alternative way of commuting to Seattle – by high speed passenger-only ferry aboard the St. Nicholas. The entire experience was far beyond our expectations! The commute was fabulous, and we thank Capt. Bennett and his crew for making the day a grand adventure.
The St. Nicholas cruised at 28 knots, was clean and comfortable and provided a spectacular view of the Sound, Cascades and Olympics. The boat cut smoothly through the waves and provided a very comfortable ride. It was a great eye-opener to a more relaxing, enjoyable way to commute to Seattle. Our hope is that we may look forward to future St. Nicholas cruise opportunities to make this otherwise white knuckle trip to Seattle a joy!
If you would consider the commute to Seattle via high-speed passenger ferry, the time is ripe to contact your legislators. Encourage them to look into this alternative to the bumper-to-bumper crush.
