Sid Schwab represents a legitimate and authentic component of our unique Pacific Northwest political mosaic. It is truly sad — and revealing — that he can’t extend the same legitimacy to those (about half of us Pacific Northwesterners) at the other end of the political spectrum. His perpetual angry tone and obsessive blind hatred of any and all dissenting opinion (Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, etc.) spoils and contradicts any otherwise legitimate points he makes. His contemptuous dismissal of the rest of us as mindless “Foxlimbeckians” is not really worthy of the authentic liberal American political tradition he claims to represent.
But, Sid is one of us and one of ours. Therefore I, for one, will not take part in any retaliation with in-kind name-calling. Hypocrite, neo-Fascist idiot (left-wing variety), mad dog hate-monger, America-hating educated fool, are labels best applied to Sid’s political bedfellows (herein unnamed) at the national level where more damage can (an is) being done. Besides, he (not meant to hurt his feelings) is only a little fish in our Pacific Northwest pond. His frothing mad-dog style is amusing, does no damage, convinces no one, changes no minds, energizes and actually helps his conservative opposition. So keep it up Sid. You’re making us look good, but yourself, not so much. We like you.
