Recently, the Zonta Club of Everett held its Stars Are Out Tonight annual auction raising $34,000 for service agencies in our community. The twinkle of the evening may be gone but the stars still shine; the stars of our community who year after year make this event such a resounding success.
President Carol Dreysse, Auction Chair Janice Henning and the members of the Zonta Club of Everett want to publicly thank our dedicated volunteers, business contributors and auction attendees for helping us raise money to fund programs and services that make our community a better place to live.
Proceeds from the auction will benefit the YMCA of Snohomish County, Boys and Girls Club of Snohomish County, Deaconess Children’s Services, Center for Career Alternatives, ARC, YWCA Pathways for Women, Providence Sexual Assault Center, Center for Battered Women, Center for Human Services, Northwest Youth Services and local educational scholarships. A portion will also be distributed to Zonta International service projects which include supporting the U.N. protocols against trafficking in women and girls in Bosnia-Herzegovina and funding young women scientists completing advanced degrees in aerospace-engineering or related fields.
Zonta International is a worldwide service organization of business executives dedicated to improving the status of women. The Everett chapter of Zonta was established in 1929 and has contributed more than $650,00 to our community. For this the Zonta Club of Everett will continue to consider all our contributors, past and present, as the real stars of our annual event.
