A brief comment on a few of The Herald’s syndicated columnists: While I don’t always agree with their analyses and comments I retain a great deal of respect for their strength of intellect, clarity and integrity.
I am referring to Charles Krauthammer, George Will and David Ignatius. Rather than falling into the mindless vitriolic sludge so typical these days, they stick to serious issues that I find to be very informative and sometimes unexpectedly significant.
I am most pleased to see the reappearance in recent weeks of Mr. Will’s column as he was sorely missed. To me Mr. Ignatius is the most balanced reporter in the entire roster nationwide and I have come to relish his insight in recent months in The Herald.
As for Charlie, I wish him the best and eagerly await his return. Mr. Krauthammer always tells it as he sees it as clearly evidenced by his equal bashing of our presidents regardless of political stripe.
Keep up the good work, Herald.
