The Marysville School District has a bond measure on Tuesday’s ballot, and it has a special significance. No matter how you approach it, I believe we have to do what we must ultimately do and that is affirm this bond.
Although there are citizens in opposition to the levy portion of this measure, I fear it may detract from the bond which seems, in everyone’s mind, essential.
I would suggest that Marysville residents opposed to the levy make their case in a school board meeting, which is not happening now. Let’s explore the merit of your concerns there. Delaying the forward progress on a new high school and a much needed elementary will ultimately become an expensive disservice to our community.
Dr. Larry Nyland has made a sincere pledge to Marysville voters that these dollars will be spent wisely and the district will make every dollar count. Once this needed measure passes, an additional important obligation of the community will just begin. Your input, your voice and expertise will be needed to achieve a quality end result. Marysville voters have a chance to shine now for the success of Marysville schools.
