After reading the Aug. 18 Herald story about the guardian ad litem program (“Lying, spying and destroying evidence spur guardian reforms”) it appears all of the so-called misconduct originated from one case.
I came to some different conclusions. One case does not equal “pervasive.” The so-called misconduct was to protect the child from returning to the drug-addicted and abusive parents. My opinion is that the lawyers representing the parents were more concerned about the legal rights of the abusive parents rather than the welfare of the helpless and innocent child.
How likely will a baby/child be continued to be abused by being returned to drug-addicted and violent parents?
