For the Snohomish School District tofinance almost $200,000 in yearly losses to operate a swimming pool, and on then lose great teachers because there is no money to reward teaching excellence, is not “putting students at the center of all decisions” as the district motto claims on its Web site.
Now we are risking a strike because the district has no money remaining to acquire and keep its talented teaching staff. The new superintendent needs to fire the entire school board for years of continually wasting my tax dollars. If students are truly first – as they should be – then the district needs to get out of the business of providing non-essential community services and get back into the business of providing a high quality education.
