Imagine the size of the glove box: Families can explore a 35-by-26-foot map of North America at Cascade High School’s gym tonight. The map, one of several traveling displays sponsored by the National Geographic Society, allows people, shoes off, to take a walking tour of America.
After exploring North America, stick around and have a laugh as Dad tries to correctly refold the map.
Windbreaker optional: The FBI has posted on its Web site a suggested physical workout for potential applicants, but you can use it, too. It’s a succession of running, sit-ups, push-ups, pull-ups and lunges.
What makes the workout a little more difficult than most is that it should be done while wearing a dark suit and tie.
How thoughtful: On this day in history:
In 1806, Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, having reached the mouth of the Columbia River at the Pacific Ocean, begin their journey back east. Remembering that they shouldn’t return without a stay-home present for President Thomas Jefferson, the explorers pick up three boxes of Aplets and Cotlets.
