Thank you for publishing Frauna Hoglund’s diatribe against state Sen. Aaron Reardon (“Reardon sings same tune, and it’s still off-key,” Friday). The article was worth reading for the humor value alone.
In logic that takes more twists and turns than the Daytona 500, Hoglund accuses Reardon of the following:
A) Using his status as a majority member of the House to help pass legislation.
B) Not using his status as a majority member of the House to help pass legislation.
C) Not voting for labor.
D) Not voting for business.
Perhaps Hoglund should have chosen only one of those items to build her case, since lumping them all together puts her credibility somewhere between Pravda and the Iraqi Information Minister.
In any event, her arguments fail to explain why Sen. Reardon was promoted by the voters of the 38th District. Voters failed to see the flaws that Hoglund, in whatever reality she resides, believes are obvious.
I couldn’t help note that Hoglund chairs the Snohomish County Republicans. I’m sure she is frustrated by the endless string of multiple losers and perennial candidates that constantly run on the GOP ticket in the 38th District, but she is wrong to take her sour grapes at losing elections out on Sen. Reardon.
Hoglund obviously believes that she and the Republican elite know better than mere voters who is qualified for office. This type of arrogance is precisely why so many people are cynical about government and politics.
Hoglund should show some character and admit she was just having a bad day. For all her talk about Aaron’s tune, Hoglund’s song is a typical loser’s whine.
Please publish future editorials by Frauna Hoglund. I enjoy laughter with my morning coffee.
