Arlington Mayor Barb Tolbert has implemented the best programs to help people suffering homelessness and addiction. I’m urging people to re-elect her for that reason, but she’s also successfully managed a FEMA emergency, the Oso landslides, where we tragically lost neighbors.
Mayor Tolbert leveraged FEMA grants to rebuild residences and businesses, doubling the economy. Tolbert and City of Arlington are recognized nationally. Tolbert’s treating the homelessness and addiction crisis as a FEMA emergency and housing people fast, she planned enough affordable housing years ago.
Tolbert’s initiatives are working and leading in this area with compassion and resources. I’ve placed hundreds of people into treatment and housing from our streets as a Grass Roots Community Leader in the past seven years. Arlington has the results we want to see in the county.
Sophia Gates wrote articles about the Boucher family, in a life-orideath crisis due to homelessness and disability, who are in Arlington. Herald readers and Tolbert’s programs are helping. Bouchers are still in crisis, until a family shelter has a bed, but there’s hope and support.
Everett voters need to elect Demi Chatters for better homelessness and addiction results here.
