Kudos to Jackson Holtz! I really appreciate his Wednesday article about the euthanized pit bull. (“Injured pit bull a victim of dog fights?”)
A sad story to be sure, but for once it wasn’t an article about naughty, awful, bad, mean pit bulls! It focused less on the breed and more on the source of the problem, which is dog fighting. He also pointed out that “pit bull” is a term used to describe quite a few different breeds, and that other non-pit bull breeds are also used in dog fights.
Dog fighting is an issue that needs to be addressed more. People tend to focus too much on “problem breeds” and not enough on the source.
