What’s in a word?
Admittedly, I ain’t the sharpest stick of butter in the box, but a quick read of the Oxford English Dictionary reveals that words can have numerous meanings. That’s cool, huh?
Last night I was asleep, dreaming of lies I might tell to the gullible so they’d send me money. Suddenly I was woke.
Eyes now open, I could “see” in the breaking light things that made no sense, such as the new conservative definition of the word “woke”. Groovy, huh? Who coined that new meaning of the word to make it sound derogatory of others, was it Gov. Ron DeSantis? He uses it a lot.
The supposed definition of the new improved jive word is to imply “woke” people just don’t hate and seek control over others in the proper political party manner. If that’s spot-on, then what would be the word to counter such ill thoughts of the unawoke?
One word came to mind: anvil. It could mean an inner ear bone, or part of a cloud, but it needs a more current definition, something to describe those who are a bit thicker and heavier, with limited usefulness, and having pointed heads. What this country needs is more of the “wokes,” and fewer “anvils.”
Dang, chipped a nail typing this, please send scads of money to help me pay ensuing legal fees.
