Now gimme money: A jury ordered a Minnesota woman to pay $222,000 in damages after six recording companies sued her, contending she illegally shared 24 copyrighted songs online. No word on what the songs were, but we’re guessing this sort of thing doesn’t happen to die-hard fans of polka.
Since we’ve got music on the brain, here are a couple songs to play while you’re catching up on the news today:
“Walk the Dinosaur,” by Was (Not Was): A newly discovered species of duck-billed dinosaur had chompers so impressive that one paleontologist dubbed the beast “the Cretaceous version of a weed-whacker.”
If the Gryposaurus were still alive today, keeping one as a pet would be a terrific way to avoid yard work and alienate your neighbors in one fell swoop.
“Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” by Frankie Valli: Herald movie critic Robert Horton says “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford” is slow but riveting, and no, he’s not just talking about the excessively long title.
The movie clocks in at 160 minutes, but fortunately, it has elements that will make it appealing to almost everyone: art for film buffs, action for the guys, and Brad Pitt for the girls.
