In response to the May 21 letter, “Prayer doesn’t establish religion,” regarding the Constitution: If the writer wants to apprise anyone about the historical context of the Constitution, perhaps she should get her history correct.
The first colonists arrived at Jamestown (Va.) in 1607. The colonists to whom she refers were the Puritans. They came 13 years later and settled Plymouth (Mass.) in 1620.
