If I believed as the atheist Michael Newdow believes, and those who espouse the same point of view, I would do as the Pilgrims did in 1620. I would settle my affairs, find a mode of travel and depart this land of torment and travel to the shores of a Godless country. A place that I may live and toil without this land, burdening me with “In God We Trust,” “Under God,” a Congress that starts it’s day with a prayer to God, a military that puts chaplains on the payroll, a government that buries its military dead with a symbol of religion on his tombstone, a Supreme Court that acknowledges God, a government that forces me to carry God in my pocket, etc.
If Mr. Newdow truly believes what he says, he would have packed his bags and been out of here long ago.
