This letter is in response to Snohomish County Assessor Gail S. Rauch’s letter (“John Koster: Statements need some clarification”). Snohomish County Executive Order 93-11, Standards Of Ethical Conduct, reads, “No appointed official or employee may engage in an activity which supports the election or defeat of any individual, or promotes opposes any ballot proposition during scheduled work hours, or when using government vehicles, equipment, or on county property.”
While we do not know if she used county property or time, it is wrong to for her to have used her official title to write the letter. Now we wonder if the county council will reprimand her for her actions, as they should. We see now why most of the opinions we have heard of her office have been very negative.
