We now see the consequences of asinine and irrational environmental policies advocated by so-called environmentalists and instituted by the impeached Bill Clinton. Over two million acres have burned so far this year in the United States. Vast wilderness areas in Arizona and Colorado are being completely destroyed by fire because the environmental activists have not allowed the government to use controlled burning and selective logging to properly manage our forests.
By rejecting scientific principles and forcing our government into illogical actions, environmentalists cause far more damage to our public lands than logging. Our grandchildren will never have the chance to enjoy the wilderness areas in Arizona and Colorado as they existed during our lifetime. Both the human and animal habitat are now being ravished by huge forest fires and it will take at least a 100 years before these wilderness areas in Arizona and Colorado are completely restored.
If environmentalists continue to insist on agendas that are based on emotion, all our public forests will vanish. Decisions regarding our environment need to be based on rational principles that are grounded in good, solid science.
