There have been some negative reports concerning Barbara Bailey’s voting record. It might help to realize that what is in a bill is, most of the time, vastly different than the title of the bill. This occurs as people attach “riders” to each bill. To say Barbara voted for or against a bill you need to look beyond the title of the bill.
I have known Bailey and her husband for more than 15 years. She does not always vote the party line, and there have been times I disagreed with a vote she cast in Olympia, but one thing that remains constant is Barbara’s core set of values. I know her belief in God, family and the constitutions of both Washington and the United States remain, as well as her commitment to the citizens of this district.
Her stand against the increase in the size and scope of government, the increase in taxes and in support of families and property rights is readily observable from her voting record.
By voting to keep Bailey as our representative, we retain a successful woman who has been in business for herself and knows the struggles of small business and what it takes to make it work. A woman with strong ethical and moral values that do not change with the political winds, and most important, a woman who has done an excellent job of representing the citizens of this district in Olympia.
