I like watching football, especially professional football.
However, there is one thing I do not like about it. That is “late hits” on a quarterback.
I believe that once the football has left the quarterback’s hands, anyone on the opposing team must break off, or immediately stop, the attack on the quarterback.
Lately, I’ve seen more and more “late hits” on quarterbacks, and, I believe that such late hits are nothing but poor sportsmanship.
So, all folks connected to football, starting with NFL management, team owners, coaches, players and officials, from professional to amateur, please stop late hits on a quarterback.
Years ago, “horse collar” tackles were OK. Now, they are not. A late hit on a quarterback should result in a 15-yard penalty and an automatic first down.
I hope others will agree with me.
