There have been two recent short stories written about the City of Arlington considering a ban on stun guns/Tasers to all but police officers within the Arlington city limits.
Seems to me that the last thing we need is another senseless law in Arlington, or elsewhere for that matter.
Why should a law-abiding citizen be allowed to own a handgun, and even carry a handgun to most places if in possession of a concealed weapons permit, but be banned from carrying a “non-lethal” device? Makes no sense to me. Just another law to enforce with no useful purpose.
It isn’t as if gun laws have kept guns out of the hands of criminals or anything!
All those laws have done is to make it less likely that a law-abiding citizen is going to have a handgun. I believe the same would happen were there a new law covering Tasers/stun guns. Give me a break. It isn’t like we don’t have enough laws around that are for the most part nearly unenforceable.
