In President Obama’s recent speeches to the UN General Assembly and the G20 Summit he, as usual, had little positive to say about the USA, relegating us to just another country where all are equal.
He emphasized the threat of global warming and how he had initiated his “green energy” plans i.e., “cap and trade.” This would cripple our ability to compete in the world market thereby transferring jobs out of the U.S. Especially so since China and India will not follow suit. While in the process of redistributing individual wealth domestically through welfare, stimulus packages, increased taxes and government health care, he’s now broadening his attention to include the world.
His regulatory “czar,” Cap Sunstein, in his 2007 Chicago Law School paper stated that America should pay “justice’’ to the world by entering into a compensation agreement that would be a net financial loss for the U.S., arguing it’s “desirable” to redistribute America’s wealth to poorer nations. He stated in his article, “Climate Change Justice,” that “If we care about social welfare, we should approve of a situation in which a wealthy nation is willing to engage in a degree of self-sacrifice when the world benefits more than that nation loses.”
In December President Obama will attend the UN conference on climate change in Copenhagen. He’s been advised by Europeans he’d better come with something big or his recent Olympic embarrassment there would pale in comparison. With a Nobel Peace Prize under his arm, may heaven help us!
