In response to Tuesday’s article, “The cancer question”:
No mention was made of the “others” who will choose to be completely honest with their daughters, and let them know that there is a greater option. Sex after marriage with a man who has waited as well, not only completely eradicates the chance of HPV, but scores of other diseases, and emotional scars that can last a lifetime.
Many parents feel they cannot relay that message to their children because they themselves have not experienced the peace, joy and thrill of a truly monogamous relationship. Why do parents push their children to get a better education, a better career, to make more money and be something better than they, but not when it comes to morality?
If you truly want something better for your children, don’t simply give them a vaccination to prevent cancer, tell them sex is a choice and they can choose to wait.
