Big corporations have been taking the rap for the lawlessness of a few CEOs. In the 1990’s big corporations became even bigger with mergers and acquisitions such as SBC/Ameritech,Daimler, Benz/Chrysler, Boeing/McDonnell Douglas, City Bank/Travelers, Nation Bank/Bank of America, AOL/Time Warner, Duke Power/Pan Power, WorldCom/MCI and Enron/numerous acquisitions.
What happened to our anti-trust laws? The Clinton/Reno justice department was more interested in crippling Microsoft to help their competitors, not their customers. As a “big” corporation, GE sponsors close to 50,000 volunteers in the U.S. and the world who last year provided more than one million man-hours in charitable services.
“Big” does not mean “bad.”
