Regarding the Monday letter, “Staff needs to care about quality“: I have to agree with the writer that (sometimes) grammatical and spelling errors do show up in The Herald. But what truly concerns me is that the writer has apparently become obsessed with discovering and documenting said errors.
It is my opinion that the greater problem is the writer’s overly critical nature, and that her determination, time and energy might be better spent amassing “a folder too large to mail” of the many, many stories without grammatical and/or spelling errors. With a little effort, a glass half-empty woman can become a glass half-full gal. I know. I’ve done it.
