Given that our national economy is losing jobs by tens of thousands every month, is this the time to go looking for more workers to bring to this country and this state?
U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez has put together a bill that would continue the valid-identity check, E-Verify program while giving the bill a poison-pill amendment that would “recapture” unused or unclaimed family and work-sponsored visas for the last 15 years, provisions critics say could allow up to 600,000 more immigrants and workers into the country.
Two of the three co-sponsors of this bill are are Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell.
One can only wonder if they have thoroughly considered all the impacts this would have on our nation and state.
