The Associated Press report that oil prices were higher Wednesday based on Kuwait “suspending oil shipments due to sandstorms” has got to be the lowest blow yet by the “thieves” that are destroying the already struggling economy of this country. Ask any of the military folks who served in the gulf when the U.S. protected Kuwait from becoming part of Iraq if the sandstorms ever quit in that area.
It is time the president quits talking about how worried he is that fuel prices are affecting the economy, starts acting, and opens up the reserves of oil and gas the United States has in storage. And after that, to the dismay of all of his tree-hugging supporters, it is time he announces that he is opening up drilling in our own backyards where the amount of oil is huge. And hopefully, all of the folks on Wall Street that bid the price of oil out of reality, will have to shed some tears when the price drops $40 a barrel overnight.
