As we enter another Christmas season I see ads and signs that refer to it as “holiday,” “winter break” and a few others but I still call it Christmas. After all, isn’t that what everyone is celebrating even if they don’t say it?
Well, I was brought up to call it Christmas and no special interest group will change my view on why we celebrate this occasion. In fact this year I will even take steps to stand my ground for what I believe is right. I will not shop at any store that uses a word other than Christmas to describe this holiday. I will not donate to any charity that is afraid to call it what it is, Christmas. I will donate to charities that use Christmas as their main and only way of describing the contribution they request and I will shop generously at the stores I spend food and gift money at provided they also call it Christmas.
No one can change my values when it comes to Christmas.
