A call to the Herald newsroom on a quiet day just before New Year’s brought me in touch with Sharon Salyer, who was covering a few “extra bases” at the time. When I mentioned an upcoming benefit concert, she promised that The Herald would help get the word out. Many thanks to her and The Herald for being true to their spoken and printed word!
Our Jan. 6 Epiphany Concert featured the donated talents of Snohomish County’s own version of “Magi from the East.” Bronn and Katherine Journey, from Sultan, journeyed west to Prince of Peace Lutheran in south Everett for a second consecutive year.
Harp and voice were offered in place of the traditional gold, frankincense and myrrh. The full sanctuary of folks gratefully received these gifts and gladly shared practical and needed treasures for our Volunteers of America Food Bank in Everett. The evening also included the considerable gifts of Everett’s own violin master Wendell Browning and all in attendance were blessed.
So, thank you Sharon and your/our Herald team of community blessers. Thank you Bronn, Katherine and Wendell for the blessing each of you continue to be in our Everett and Snohomish County community. And, thanks to all who attended and gifted our neighbors in need this Epiphany season.
