Once again I have to respond to a letter that blindly supports George W. Bush (“Presidential respect: Bush is in office – just get over it,” June 11). Recent letter-writer Emily Owen needs to realize that since Bush was not elected president, but put into the White House when the Supreme Court 5 voted to stop the recount.
I, for one was no supporter of Al Gore or Bill Clinton, but I am no supporter of Bush either. I don’t support either of the corporate-owned political parties. I voted for Ralph Nader, and know I and others who did were not the reason Bush became president. He stole the White House.
I do not support him because of his tax cut which will only benefit the rich, his attacks on workers and abortion rights, his stand on the environment, and his misguided energy policies. Bush is not a legitimate president, and as such we should oppose his policies, and be out in the streets demonstrating when he comes to this area.
