A week after the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection, Boeing released a statement that it would support only politicians who “not only support our company but uphold our country’s most fundamental principles.” Since then, Boeing has “donated” at least $240,000 to members of Congress who voted and conspired to overturn the results of the most thoroughly scrutinized, challenged and legitimated election in U.S. history. Clearly that’s not “upholding our country’s most fundamental principles.”
Apparently, Boeing can overlook that if officials “support our company.” Congresspersons on committees that allocate defense spending and deliver tax breaks continue to receive Boeing’s support even after some encouraged and supported an insurrection. Many of them continue to undermine public faith in our electoral process and will use Boeing’s support for their re-election campaigns. It is incredibly ironic that Boeing plays a large role in our nation’s defense while willingly supporting seditionists. What, pray tell, does Boeing they think we are defending?
Help force Boeing to adhere to its pledge and truly act in the defense of democracy by demanding a refund of its donations already made to these seditionists and truly refraining from further funding of those who voted to overturn the legitimate results of the 2020 presidential election and continue to spread disinformation about it.
Don’t let Boeing continue to misrepresent the people of Washington state by placing profit over democracy. Go online and sign a petition you will easily find by Googling “Boeing Petition.”
