Bonnie Williams built ties to Tulalip

I read the letter to the editor stating Bonnie Williams was no longer the director of the Ken Baxter Senior Center in Marysville (“Departure of Bonnie Williams is painful,” May 18).

As the director of the Tulalip Tribal Senior Center, I was saddened to hear this. We have had nothing but positive things happen between the two senior centers when Bonnie was director of the Ken Baxter Senior Center. She brought the two groups together on several occasions and made it a point to see that our Indian tribal elders were welcome to some of their functions.

Our Tulalip Tribal elders will miss her as she had the personality and working experience to make us feel part of the Marysville community. I do not think she realized what a great task she accomplished in doing this.

As the director of a senior center, I wanted to let the Marysville seniors know that we at the Tulalip Tribal Senior Center appreciated the work and dedication of Bonnie Williams. The Ken Baxter Senior Center has grown under her direction. We at the Tulalip Tribal Senior Center wish Bonnie the bet of luck and will miss her gracious personality, which made us feel so welcome and appreciated.

FILE — Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. speaks alongside President Donald Trump during an event announcing a drug pricing deal with Pfizer in the Oval Office of the White House in Washington, Sept. 30, 2025. Advisers to Kennedy appear poised to make consequential changes to the childhood vaccination schedule, delaying a shot that is routinely administered to newborns and discussing big changes to when or how other childhood immunizations are given.
