You’ve got to lively up yourself: Toronto Mayor Rob Ford said that a new video of him slurring his words and attempting to affect a Jamaican accent was a “minor setback” after having “had a little bit” to drink. In November, after a video of him smoking crack cocaine came to light, he vowed the public would never see him drunk again.

We are disappointed, but mostly because we usually find North American guys speaking in a Jamaican patois so darn charming.

Flag on the play: Seattle Seahawk Richard Sherman continues to have to explain his on-field outburst after Seattle’s defeat of San Francisco to earn a berth to the Super Bowl.

A major North American city is headed by a crack-smoking, drunken thug who can’t be impeached, and people are dogging Sherman for an apology?

Bit off more than it could chew: Bertha, the idled tunneling machine stuck under Seattle, appears to have a 3-foot boulder stuck in its grinding teeth. A forgotten pipe also was found to have stalled the drill.

State transportation crews are looking for a length of floss strong enough to dislodge the boulder.
