Regarding the article about Broadway Burlington Northern bridge. (“Everett, railroad reach deal”). Months ago I read about the bridge needing replacement. That article stated that the project would take a year. That is ridiculous. The larger, more difficult bridge over the Skagit River took only a few weeks. If steel or prestressed concrete I-beams are prefabbed and ready to install, it should take less than a month even if the end support walls need to be replaced. What kind of engineers are running that project?
