Broken windows happen; that’s life

Regarding the Jan. 10 article, “Windshields broken; drivers say promises were, too”:

A free $300 windshield on behalf of the Washington state taxpayers?

I appreciate the state Department of Transportation’s process and the contractor’s reason for denying the claim.

Sometimes life sends a rock chip into your windshield. Take the knick and move on.
