As a young adult with two children, I am concerned about the future of our country. Over the past eight years the Democrats have overseen frequent, unfocused troop deployments and decreased military spending by nearly 40 percent, leading to a crisis in military readiness. George W. Bush will renew the bond of trust between the president and the military, and build up our military to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
Another concern is the failing Social Security program. Without serious changes to the program, my generation has no hope of seeing any benefits from Social Security. Bush’s plan will enable individuals to invest a portion of their Social Security payroll taxes in personal retirement accounts, earning higher rates of return and generating wealth that can be owned and passed on to our children.
Bush is the only candidate who has the integrity, vision and leadership qualities to be our next president.
