I couldn’t help but notice the irony in your story last Saturday about the protesters at the John Kerry event in Everett. In the story, “Throng vocal but well-behaved during visit” by Bill Sheets, he mentions a sign that read, “Kerry against free speech.” I wonder if the Bush supporter carrying that sign was aware that, if the situations were reversed and he or she were carrying that (or any other) sign at a Bush event, it would never have been seen by Mr. Bush as all protest is confined to a so-called “Free Speech Zone” some quarter mile away from wherever their “Defender of Democracy” might happen to be.
