Our president just doesn’t know what he wants to do with Iraq. Even though the self-governing by the Iraqi people is being moved up (“Handoff to Iraqis planned for 2004,” News, Nov. 15) sooner than his administration previously planned, it is not satisfactory. It is further evidence of the lack of thought with which this president entered into a capricious war. Our president puts more thought into his re-election and traveling from one fundraiser to another so he can buy the next election than he did this war.
Our young men die each day to ensure that his rich friends and their companies keep their lucrative contracts to “rebuild” Iraq. Enough blood has been spilled for your crusade. Get out now, Mr. President. Surely without Saddam, Iraq is not a threat to us. Let those people govern themselves.
