President Bush, by spying on U.S. citizens, has violated one the most basic rights of the citizens of the United States. Amendment IV to the U.S. Constitution states that, “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated.”
There are procedures for obtaining the authority for surveillance of U.S. citizens. President Bush chose not to follow these procedures. The logical conclusion is that President Bush should be impeached for his actions.
