Last week there were two interesting articles in The Herald. One showed in diagram form the names, nationalities and fate (captured, dead, or unknown) of al-Qaida’s top leadership, starting with Osama bin Laden. The other was an article asking the question “Would Christ drive an SUV?”
The list of al-Qaida leaders showed eight Egyptian, six Saudi, six Yemeni, and one each Libyan, Kuwaiti, Kuwaiti-Pakistani, Egyptian-Canadian and Pakistani-Saudi. I was unable to find even one Iraqi listed.
Maybe if President Bush were to look at similar information he would realize that his desire to attack Iraq is based more on the mortal sins of pride and wrath and less on protecting America from terrorism. And maybe instead of asking ourselves “Would Christ drive an SUV?” we should be asking ourselves “Would Christ approve of us attacking Iraq?”
