I believe George W. Bush’s plan to reform Social Security will harm all recipients of Social Security payments, both now and into the future. The Social Security administration would have to maintain a separate record for each individual’s investment account in the stock market in order to keep the funds in the Social Security trust fund. This likely will result in each of these millions of investors notifying the Social Security administration of their choice of stocks. However it is handled, it will cost millions of dollars, which means less money to pay out to recipients – a bookkeeping and bureaucratic nightmare, I think. Let us keep the security in Social Security.
I use three criteria in evaluating the candidates for this high office: intelligence, education and experience. Both candidates are intelligent and well educated. It is the experience that tips the scale to Al Gore in my opinion.
