Was Angus MacGyver a charter subscriber? A new magazine serves a peculiar niche: people — let’s face it, geeks — who like to make stuff.
What kind of stuff? Try an MP3 player recharger fashioned from an Altoids tin and a couple of AA batteries, or a wireless network access point that rolls around on the running gear of a remote-controlled toy car.
The magazine, called Make, claims a circulation of 100,000 — all of whom, we can safely assume, don’t have a date for Friday night. Or Saturday. Or anytime.
It’s tough being Hillary Rodham Clinton these days, as we all know. It might be even tougher being Hayden Christensen, the generally reviled Canadian actor whose cringe-inducing love scenes with Natalie Portman helped doom the “Star Wars” prequels.
But you can’t count out a Clinton, nor, apparently, Christensen. His new film, “Jumper,” generally reviled by critics, apparently has caught on with the multiplex crowd — it’s No. 1 at the box office.
Brent “Bones” Barry has returned to the Sonics. No, we don’t care, either.
