Can they afford to clean up spills?

With the $10 billion profit Exxon made last quarter, why has it not paid the fines the government imposed when that big oil spill occurred in Prince William Sound? It is still in appeal.

The public television program “NOW” reports how the oil companies control the prices around the country. All this on top of the $6 billion subsidy the Bush administration and Congress gave them recently.
