Many people contributed to the success of my campaign for Mukilteo City Council and foremost among those were the voters. Thank you, Mukilteo voters, for taking the time to inform yourselves, for “showing up” to vote, and for choosing me to serve you.
I thank the Mukilteo firefighters for their help and support throughout the campaign. Their assistance in assembling, posting and maintaining signs, distributing literature, publicizing their support through ads and waving signs was a tremendous help.
I also thank the hundreds of women and men who made contributions to my campaign. You gave so generously of your time, your energy and your enthusiasm.
It is said that behind every successful man is a greater woman, but I had the help of six “greater” women. Sandy Johnston, Dorothy Kasch, Diane Tinsley and Kathy Wisbeck were invaluable members of my campaign steering committee. Mandy Moores, my campaign treasurer, mastered the intricate electronic filing procedures and kept my campaign financial records in impeccable condition. Barbara Moore, my campaign manager, was astonishingly capable, energetic and supportive. These six women gave unselfishly of their intellect and optimism, and they sustained me with their indomitable spirit. I cannot express adequately my gratitude and admiration.
Finally, a loving thank you to my wife, Diane. She suffered far more than I from the uncertainty of the campaign and the attacks on my character, but she never wavered in her support.
