No more growth without roads – a no-brainer, right? Then why hasn’t the Snohomish County Council acted to utilize the mitigation fees intended to tame the new traffic accompanying development? Why does $20 million of the $32.1 million developers’ fees collected between 1994 and 2000 sit untapped? Why return it unused to the developers after six years’ interest with an unnamed destination?
Meeting this and other challenges such as public safety needs, wise use of tax monies, and reasonable land-use regulations weighs in our choice of the county council members. In District 5, candidate Jeff Sax possesses a well-balanced perspective of these concerns, born of his work experience, community involvement and confronting them as a resident, husband and parent. But a nearly extinct attribute elevates his candidacy above the field. Jeff listens with sensitivity to solve problems optimally. Coupled with his integrity, Jeff offers both surpassing quality and qualifications for this position. It is my privilege to know him. If you live in District 5 you may also have the privilege of supporting him as your county councilman.
