All I read in the letters to the editor anymore is “give me, give me.” I don’t want to sound like a stick in the mud or broken record, but I have to laugh every time I read this hogwash.
Starting with the track at some of the local schools and how the cinder track is hurting the runners and all those support letters, I know they can’t be from property owners. If so many runners and parents of runners want the track fixed why don’t they just get their wallets out pool their money and get it fixed?
I used to run on a cinder track, as have most of the older folks when they were in school and it didn’t hurt us. Furthermore, if you look at some of the world-class runners throughout history you’d find they also ran on cinder tracks! So quit whining and bugging the rest of us; we can’t afford it!
Then there’s the farce of the levy the Everett School District put before the voters last year and how they were broke! Where did they get the money to even consider a new administration building? I really don’t think the job they’re doing is good enough to warrant the people paying for their perks and pleasures!
