Can’t make heads or tails of tab fees

This week I renewed tabs on my 1985 model car. The plates had to be replaced because of loss of reflectivity. I don’t fault that, but was not at all happy with the vehicle gross weight tax (a minimum of $10 that was charged.)

Other fees: filing fee $3. Subagent fee of $4. Other (??) $54.75

Total expense: $71.75

My heavier ‘85 model car had no gross weight fee and was a total of $43.75

I do not understand why there was a variance.
