Regarding the Jan. 12 letter, “Eyman should be part of solution”:
Tim Eyman should provide a solution to the state cost of the ferry system? Since neither our tax-and-spend liberal legislators or a private system that was literally regulated out of a profitable business 60 years ago appear to be capable of operating a cost-effective ferry system, by all means, let’s blame someone else.
Especially convenient to shoulder this burden of blame is the fellow, Mr. Eyman, who put initiatives on the ballot to restrain our legislators’ excessive spending sprees.
But wait, did not the voting citizens of this state vote on and pass these same initiatives by wide margins? Despite this obvious fact, Mr. Eyman must be to blame. Who else could possibly be the responsible party for the financial condition of the state ferry system?
